The Institution of Engineering and Technology (Hong Kong) (IET Hong Kong) organizes the ROV Competition on April 25 and 26, 2026. This year we run three classes:

 

Competition Categories and ClassesCategory 1:

 

IET/MATE ROV Competition (Hong Kong Regional)Follows international MATE ROV rules. Winners from Explorer and Ranger classes will be nominated for the MATE International Competition.

 

  - Explorer Class: For tertiary institutions and secondary schools with strong track record in Ranger Class.

 

   - Ranger Class: For all secondary school teams.

Category 2: IET ROV Competition

 

    - Scout Class: For primary and secondary school teams. Priority will be given to primary and secondary school teams that:

 

 1. Have participated in scout class in 2025.

2. First time to participate in 2026

3. Do not participate in other categories in 2026.

4. Have not participated in other categories in past three years.

5. Have not received any top awards (Championship, First Runner-Up, or Second Runner-Up in other categories) in the past three years.

 

Registration and Payment Process

 

1. Complete this Google Form to submit registration.

 

2. After IET Hong Kong confirms your registration:

 

- Teams in Explorer, Ranger or Scout class will receive a link to pay the MATE fee online by credit card.

- All teams will receive an invoice from IET Hong Kong for the IET portion.

3. Pay IET fee by cheque only (payable to "IET Hong Kong"). Write school name and contact information on the back. Mail to: The IET Hong Kong, 4402 Cosco Tower, 183 Queen’s Road Central, Hong Kong.

 

4. Final confirmation email will be sent after IET receives both the registration form and cheque payment.Important Notes

 

1. IET fee is accepted by cheque only, no other payment methods.

2. If your school requires an official invoice from MATE for payment processing, please indicate it in this form.
